The Safe Grip Belt Clamp is an important accessory for use with booster seats in vehicles with a lap sash belt, and is exclusive to Infa-Secure child restraints. It significantly increases the security of your child in a frontal accident.

There is a popular misconception that this clamp is used in place of a gated buckle / double T fitting, to hold the lap and sash belts together - this is incorrect!

The Safe Grip Belt Clamp is placed only on the sash part of the vehicle belt, as close as possible to the seat belt buckle tongue. The correct way to fit the red clamp is as follows.

1. Place the child in the booster seat and fit the lap sash vehicle belt as normal.

2. Pull the sash part of the vehicle belt upwards, so as to tighten the lap part of the vehicle belt over your child's thighs / pelvis area.

3. While maintaining the pressure on the belt, place the Safe Grip Belt Clamp over the sash part of the vehicle belt, as close to the vehicle seat belt buckle tongue as possible.

What this effectively does is prevent the sash part of the vehicle belt from feeding back through the buckle tongue, keeping the lap part of the vehicle belt tight and secure on your child's bony thigh / pelvis area.

The Safe Grip Belt Clamp should be discarded if it is involved in a motor vehicle accident.
