CREP

What is CREP?

C.R.E.P. is a joint initiative of the NRMA, RTA, and RACV, whereby most child restraints available on the Australian market are tested and ranked in order of crash protection and ease of correct use.

What is CREP?

The child restraints are put through a demanding dynamic sled test, and an intensive visual examination. The C.R.E.P. tests are performed at a higher rate than the tests used for Compliance Testing, so as to illustrate the differences in each more effectively.

Why is CREP important?

C.R.E.P.'s benefits are two-fold. Firstly, they provide you, the consumer, with a great starting point when looking to buy a child restraint. Secondly, it encourages manufacturers, like us, to constantly look for ways to improve our products. A good example of this is our Trek 8 and Comfi Cruiser. We looked at the results of the Trek 8, and improved it's design accordingly.

What is CREP?

Each restraint is awarded two ranks out of a maximum 5 stars - one rank for crash protection, and one for ease of use.

How did Infa-Secure perform?

Infa-Secure's range performed excellently overall. The Vario Kid Booster Seat remains the first Booster Seat to be awarded 4 Stars for Exceptional Crash Protection, and is still the overall top rated Booster Seat. The Comfi-Cruiser achieved a top rating in the Type B mode making it one of the Safest Carseats for children aged between 6 months and 4 years, and the Turn-a-Tot Carseat also acheived a 4 Star rating for the Type A Rearward facing mode, making it the equal 1st safest option for newborn to 6 month old children.
